We’ve got some amazing route and are currently cooking up an amazing week long experience that includes the best of Girona’s world-class gravel with some lesser known routes around Catalunya.
The “Taste of Catalunya” Coastal Greenway Tour (Self-Guided & Basic Guided)
- Concept: A relaxed, scenic tour focusing on the picturesque Costa Brava greenways and charming coastal towns, with an emphasis on accessible routes suitable for a wide range of cyclists, including families. It highlights the region’s seafood and maritime culture.
- Self-Guided:
- Summary: Riders receive detailed GPS routes (via a dedicated app or provided GPS device), comprehensive local guidebooks with recommended stops for authentic “kilómetro zero” restaurants, cafes, and local producers. Includes pre-booked comfortable hotel or guesthouse accommodation, luggage transfers between stops, and 24/7 emergency support. Bikes (e-bikes or gravel) are provided. Focuses on gentle greenways like the “El Carrilet” route from Girona to Sant Feliu de Guíxols.
- At Wanderlist Tours, we always place a strong emphasis on a curated “culinary map” with pre-identified local eateries and markets, encouraging direct engagement with local food artisans. Optional “local produce picnic basket” add-on at designated stops.
- Basic Guided:
- Summary: A small group tour (max 9 riders) led by a local Wanderlist Tours guide who provides route navigation, cultural insights, and facilitates interactions with local communities. Includes comfortable accommodation, all meals with a focus on regional specialties, and support vehicle for transfers and emergencies. Daily distances are manageable, typically 50-80km.
Optional Add-on Experiences: Guided visits to small fishing villages for fresh seafood tastings, a “paella making” class with a local family, or an olive oil tasting at a family-run mill. The guide actively promotes responsible tourism by engaging with local businesses and explaining cultural nuances.
